APRIL: A MONTHLY MUSE
April, known for its changeable weather - most notably 'showers' - is a joyful month full of the promise of spring, with fields full of lambs, birds busy building nests and flowers blooming, it's hard not to feel optimistic about the coming months and with the clocks 'springing forward' the evenings are longer, and lighter and winter seems far behind us.
April 1 is Fool's Day, traditionally a day to play pranks - but make sure you do it before noon to avoid being the fool yourself! The origin of this day is not known, but variations on the theme take place across the globe.
This is the perfect month for getting outside, whether that be planting seeds or tidying in the garden, going for a family walk or visiting a bluebell wood - there's plenty to do. Many gardens open to the public are in full bloom and as many birds return to our shores after their winter break, this is a great time to get twitching.
